Porter Service
Are you interested in spending a night or more in the backcountry, but don’t want the burden of carrying a pack? Are you interested in carrying half a load instead of a full one; or are you looking for a way to set a food cache along a longer backpacking route so that it is there when you arrive? Are you a photographer with more gear than you can carry? Our porter service is what you may need.
CMA offers porter service to our guests and to those needing assistance on their own self guided backpacking trips. Porters will carry up to 50 lbs of your food and gear and will carry it up to 10 km (per day/one way) to a predetermined destination. This is a perfect compliment a multi-day trip, to bring in extra food, beverage and comfort.
Example how our porter service works: During one of our basecamp trips, a porter(s) will carry in your gear to the basecamp, help set up camp and leave. They return on the morning of your last day to assist breaking down camp and carrying out the gear.
Cost: $150.00 per porter/day. Prices increase if porters are required to travel more than 10 km per day - ask for special pricing. We do not allow our
porters to carry more than 50 lbs (22.5 kg) per porter. Porters are not available for backpacking trips longer than three
days. If being used in conjunction with helicopter assistance, the customer is responsible for the air transportation of
the porter. Porters are not guides and will not be used as such.
