Horse Assisted Hiking Trips
All horse assisted hiking trips take place in and around Spruce Lake Wilderness Protected Area of British Columbia, sometimes called the South Chilcotin Provincial Park. This area is a hikers dream: full of wildflower meadows, rugged mountain peaks, glacial fed lakes/streams, and lots of wildlife. Even our own lead guide has never traveled through terrain as favorable or memorable as this.
All horse assisted hiking trips operate through our friends at Spruce Lake Wilderness Adventures (SLWA). Our own ACMG qualified guide will guide you to and from SLWA’s exclusive wilderness camps and on exciting day hikes to unforgettable scenery. Your gear is taken care of by one of SLWA’s legendary wranglers and their seasoned train of pack horses.
Spruce Lake Wilderness Adventure has been family owned and operated for over 35 years, honing their skills at providing vacations of a lifetime, and offering the most friendly and authentic ‘western mountain experience’ anywhere in Western Canada. Spruce Lake Wilderness Adventures holds one of the largest tenures in the area encompassing twenty two different camp locations throughout Spruce Lake Park, Big Creek Park and Crown Land up through the Williams Lake District.
You can expect amazing home cooked meals and comfortable accommodations at one of SLWA’s cabins, wall tents, or wilderness camps. Extra saddle horses can be brought along if you want to ride on occasion (extra fee). Trips can be completely customized to fit your tastes.
